So here I sit, in my buddys nice executive chair, in the dining room, listening to the wail of 5 separate fire alarms going off slightly out of tune and very out of sync. It's 4:21 right now and no, we didn't set them off by fishbowling our appartment. I think that would have been much more enjoyable. Instead we have no idea what set them off. I was walking back from a sleepy bathroom run, Alex was finishing up his torrent searches for the night, Jón was brushing his teeth and Jesse, having woken up only at 11, was just starting to get into his daily routines.

Yup... This sucks. All I can say is thank you wifi. After checking the circuit breaker to find that there's no way to kill the power and there are no interupt button on the devices themselves, I got the DSL back up so I can do something since sleep and studying are right out.

Ha... Alex has his torrents up and running again. good stuff (hellloo Halo 2 leaked disc!)

[Update 2]
Hurray maintenance guys. Unplug all the alarms and they'll come by in the morning. So much for sleeping in, as I'm sure they'll want to test the system as well. Not thrilled by this but at least there's silence now. I'm going to bed.

I'm watching a thunder storm at the moment and it is fantastic! One of the best I've seen in this city.

I also got to watch the power ripple out around the Verizon and Prudential (i think) buildings downtown (and our net went down) then watch it hit nearby and knock out the city street light lines. Our net came on shortly after that.

Okay... the rain has pretty much stopped, but the lightning is still coming it heavy. It's so beautiful. Anyway, back to my code, I can't stay up all night.
